A woman driver has pleaded guilty killing a 15-year-old in a hit-and-run in Tauranga.
Karma Jasmine McIvor, 22, of Te Teko, was awaiting trial on charges of drink driving causing death, drink driving causing injury and failing to stop to ascertain injury.
She was reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road with a breath alcohol level of almost twice the legal limit last August when she hit Stevie-Rae Marks and two other schoolgirls who were walking near the grass verge of a suburban street in the township.
McIvor, who had denied the charges, will be sentenced on April 23.
