A woman scooter rider escaped serious injury after she lost control of her machine in Masterton yesterday afternoon.
Police attended the scene outside St Patrick's School in Chapel St alongside fire and ambulance crews after the woman, 22, lost control of the scooter about 3.30pm and slid along the road for a short distance, members of her family said.
The crash did not involve any other vehicles and the stretch of road was briefly cordoned while the woman and her machine were removed from the roadway and she was checked for injuries.
