The wife of a man seriously injured in a two-truck crash in south Auckland yesterday had a "lucky day" after she changed her mind about travelling with him, emergency services say.
The woman's husband had to be cut out of his truck after it collided with another truck on Heights Rd in Pukekohe yesterday at around 11am.
A Fire Service spokesperson confirmed the man was freed around 1pm.
Paramedic Russell Clarke was at the scene.
"We treated [the injured man] and flew him to Auckland Central Hospital in a serious condition," he said.
