KEY POINTS:
A woman charged with bashing a Lower Hutt man to death with a softball bat has given up her bid for continued name suppression.
Kathleen O'Sullivan is accused of murdering James Stuart Brown, 48, at his Lower Hutt home last year.
She was initially charged with aggravated burglary after allegedly going to Mr Brown's home and attacking him with the softball bat on October 25 last year.
The murder charge was laid after Mr Brown died from his injuries in Wellington Hospital 12 days later.
O'Sullivan's appeal for further name suppression was to be heard yesterday but was abandoned on Monday.
