Emergency services are scouring a west Auckland beach for a driver of a vehicle which was left parked and unlocked on Saturday night.
Police, a land search and rescue team, surf life saving teams, and the Westpac rescue helicopter have been searching the Piha area for a missing woman, after the car was left abandoned in the Mercer Bay area.
The police would like to hear from a couple who might have seen the missing woman about 7.15pm last night, walking down the Mercer Bay loop track.
The couple told a local about their concern for the woman. The local then contacted police.
Police would not reveal any further details on the search.
