Woman knocked out during robbery

A woman was knocked unconscious during a robbery at an Auckland foodmarket last night, police say.

Police said a man entered the Papakura shop demanding money before punching the woman.

The offender was described as a male Maori, about 18, of medium height and fat build. The vehicle he left the scene in was found by police about 2km away.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
