An elderly woman has been knocked off her mobility scooter by a car as she crossed a pedestrian crossing in Te Awamutu.
Te Awamutu police said the driver of the vehicle did not see the 84-year-old on the crossing and crashed into her.
"Little bit of a close call on Alexandra Street, outside the RSA this morning," the police wrote on their Facebook page.
"Fortunately no major injuries."
Police said members of the public and staff from the nearby Te Awamutu & District Memorial RSA came to the woman's aid.
A police spokesman said the driver was travelling at an estimated 30km/h and clipped the front of the woman's scooter.
The Te Awamutu woman was treated for minor injuries at a nearby medical centre.
Police said it was a timely reminder for motorists to use "common sense" when approaching pedestrian crossings.
"By slowing a little instead of keeping to your normal road speed it will hopefully prevent such a thing happening. Look ahead and double check."
