A woman was killed and a toddler badly hurt after a car and a truck collided near Glenbrook, south west of Auckland yesterday.
Police believe the car may have drifted into the path of the truck about 2.30pm yesterday.
The name of the woman, thought to be 37, would be
released when all her relatives had been told, said police today.
The infant, thought to be under two, was listed as critically ill yesterday.
Glenbrook Road, Karaka, was closed for five hours while the road surface was repaired and the debris was cleaned up. The truck driver was not hurt.
