Police have named the woman killed in a crash outside Whangarei on Friday afternoon as mother-of-three Josephine Tipene.
Ms Tipene, 47, from Kerikeri, is also survived by two grandchildren.
Emergency Services were called to a crash between a car and a truck at Otaika, about 6km south of Whangarei on State Highway 1, about 12.30pm on Friday.
The road was closed for several hours as police cleared the wreckage and examined the scene.
