KEY POINTS:
A woman has been killed in a two car crash just south of Wanganui, this morning.
The two cars collided just after 7am at Marybank on State Highway 3, about 3km from Wanganui.
A female driver of one of the vehicles was killed and at least one other person had been seriously injured, Inspector Paul Jermy of Wanganui police said.
There were up to five occupants in the cars.
No further details regarding the deceased were available at this time and the cause of the crash was not yet known.
The road will remain closed - and detours in place - until a scene examination has been completed.
