Woman killed in Remuera crash

A woman in her 70s is dead after the vehicle she was driving hit a fence in Remuera.

Police and the St John ambulance service were called to the scene, on Bell Rd in Remuera at 9.50pm yesterday.

The woman was the sole occupant of the car and no other people were involved in the crash, a police spokesman said.

"There were no skid marks, which leads us to suspect she may have experienced a medical event," he said.

There would be a post mortem.
