Woman killed in Manawatu crash named

Police have released the name of a 59-year-old woman who was killed when her car left the road and hit a tree in Manawatu yesterday.

She was Margaret Patricia Hirst, of Halcombe, 13km north-west of Feilding.

A passing motorist spotted the car down a bank east of Halcombe.

It was unclear when or how the crash happened but the road was wet, police said.
