The woman killed in a crash near Kaiapoi in north Canterbury this morning has been identified as 20-year-old Linda Joy Glendenning, of Rangiora.
The crash was believed to have occurred between approximately 8am and 8.15am today on South Eyre Road between Burgesses Road and Mabers Road.
The crash was reported to police by a passing motorist at 8.20am.
Initial enquiries indicated the driver lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the centre line and hit a tree on the other side of the road.
No other vehicles were involved.
