A Woodville woman who was killed in a car crash in the Manawatu Gorge has been named by police as Mavis Anna McLean.
The 78-year-old died after two cars collided in a head-on crash at the Woodville end of the gorge on Wednesday afternoon.
One other person involved in the crash was also taken to Palmerston North Hospital in a serious condition. The police serious crash unit are investigating.
Police said it was too soon to say if any charges would be laid. The death has been referred to the coroner.
