Woman killed in bike accident

Police are investigating after a woman cyclist was killed in an accident in Christchurch this morning.

They said that it appeared the woman was riding her bike down a hill in suburban Westmorand and failed to take a left hand bend, colliding with a power pole.

She died at the scene.

No further details are known at this stage.
