"Take the protection order off me and we'll live together happily ever after," a woman told her former boyfriend in a voicemail left on his phone.
But the ex wasn't interested, and no wonder - the message was part of ongoing and intimidating harassment.
Kerryn Mitchell previously served two years and one month in prison for damaging property belonging to her ex and his new partner. She smashed windows and doors and left abusive message on his phone, in breach of a protection order in place since 2008.
Mitchell's relationship with her ex ended in 2006 but one morning six years later she left four more messages on his cellphone. For this she was jailed for four months, after being found guilty this year at a jury trial in Wellington.
In the Court of Appeal in Wellington today she appealed against both the convictions for breaching the protection order and her sentence.
