A Tauranga woman has been jailed for 16 months, on her 11th drink drive conviction.
Papamoa mother of two Raquel Kiwi pleaded guilty in December to driving with excess blood alcohol. She also admitted driving while disqualified, for the fifth time.
Judge Louis Bidois sentenced the 27-year-old to 14 months jail on the driving charges and another two months jail for receiving stolen property. He said she should have learnt her lesson but clearly had not.
Judge Bidois also acknowledged the district had a drink drive problem.
Earlier, during another drink drive case police prosecutor David Pawson said the Tauranga district's drink drive offending rate is 54 per cent above the national average.
