KEY POINTS:
A Wairoa woman suffered a serious injury after a golf ball hit her in the eye this morning.
The 52-year-old was practicing golf at home when the ball ricocheted off a concrete wall at close range, straight back into her eye.
She was initially treated at Wairoa Hospital, then flown by the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital for further treatment.
