KEY POINTS:
A woman has been hospitalised after being hit by a passenger train north of Porirua early this morning.
Inspector Steve Darroch said the accident happened on the main trunk line about 4am.
The line has been closed while police examine the scene.
Tranzmetro said buses would replace the trains on the line between Paekakariki and Porirua.
