A Kaikohe woman is recovering in Whangarei hospital after falling from a horse this afternoon.
Wendy Zielinski was competing in a Polocrosse competition at the Kaikohe showgrounds when "her horse flipped", a witness said.
"She came off it and hit her head on the other horse's shoulder.
"She got knocked out."
Zielinski, who is the secretary of the Kaikohe Polocrosse club, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries at around 1:15pm.
