A woman has been cut out of her car and taken to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital following a serious crash at Waiohiki.
Senior Constable Cory Ubels said police believed the woman's car hit a concrete wall on a bend on the Links Road section of State Highway 50.
She was in a critical condition in hospital.
No one else was in the car at the time.
Emergency services are still at the scene of the crash.
