KEY POINTS:
A woman who publicly claimed All Black winger Sitiveni Sivivatu had groped her in an Auckland bar has now admitted she made a mistake.
The woman told media Sivivatu had put his hand up her skirt in the Safari Lounge Bar on December 9.
She said she responded by punching him in the face.
However, Sivivatu strongly denied the accusation, saying he had been home in Hamilton with his wife when the alleged assault took place.
Today, police confirmed the woman had admitted she was wrong in pointing the finger at Sivivatu.
A 26-year-old man had been identified as the offender, and had been formally warned about his behaviour.
He had apologised to the woman, who did not want to take the matter further.
