KEY POINTS:
A woman is in a serious but stable condition in Waikato Hospital after a two-car crash south of Hamilton last night.
The woman was a front seat passenger in one of the cars which crashed about 6.45pm yesterday on Mystery Creek Road, just north of the Mystery Creek complex near Hamilton Airport.
Fire crews were required to cut the woman free from her trapped car.
Sergeant Chris Greenwood of Te Awamutu Police said it appeared one driver was travelling too fast for conditions and too fast around a corner with an advisory speed limit of 45km/h.
He said police and the serious crash unit were investigating.
