Woman hit by car in Lower Hutt

A 60 year old woman is recovering in Lower Hutt hospital after she was hit by a car last night.

Lower Hutt police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened at about 6.15pm in Waddington Drive, though it was not a hit and run.

Senior Sergeant Geoff Hancock said police wanted to speak to the driver of a second vehicle which was on the road at the time of the accident and might have valuable information.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Lower Hutt police.
