A Tauranga woman charged with attempting to hold up a superette with a 10-inch dagger at the end of March is in custody.
Cheyanne McCausland, 22 and unemployed, of Kairua, appeared in Tauranga District Court this morning charged with assault with intent to commit robbery and was remanded in custody after police opposed bail.
Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier said the woman turned herself in at Papamoa police station last night.
"She came to police as a result of our investigation. It's a good result," he said.
The March 31 robbery attempt saw the woman allegedly pull a 10-inch knife on 59-year-old Arataki Superette assistant Sue Savage. The mid-afternoon attack was the third at the Oceanbeach Rd store in four years.
