A New Zealand woman has been caught trying to carry heroin into Australia in her underwear.
The 57-year-old was caught at Sydney International Airport with about 200g of heroin in her underpants, Australian papers reported today.
She was stopped by customs for a baggage search yesterday and was frisked when officers became suspicious she may have been carrying concealed drugs, the Australian Federal Police said.
It is alleged the heroin came from Vietnam.
She will appear in Sydney's Central Local Court today charged with importing a border-controlled drug, which carries a maximum penalty of A$750,000 ($870,00) and/or life imprisonment.
