Woman found dead in Marton alleyway

The death of a 59-year-old woman whose body was found in a Marton alleyway was not suspicious, police say.

Emergency services were called when the woman was found in an alleyway between a school and a gym on Heresford St at about 8:30am.

Paramedics tried to revive her but she was declared dead at the scene.

A police central communications spokesman said an investigation had found the death was not suspicious.

It had been referred to the coroner, he said.
