Police were today trying to establish the circumstances behind a woman being found bound and alone in a car near Helensville, north of Auckland, last night.
The woman was found in a car on State Highway 16 about 8.30pm.
Police said how the woman came to be there was still unclear because she had yet to make a statement to police.
They said the information they had on the case so far was limited.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment for a minor injury.
