KEY POINTS:
A young woman was electrocuted in Marlborough last night after crashing into a power pole.
The woman crashed off a gravel road about 10km north of Blenheim shortly before 6pm, the Sunday Star Times reported.
Her vehicle hit a power pole on Cravens Rd, snapping it and leaving the wires hanging loose.
Police said the woman had been electrocuted and fatally burned as she got out of the car.
There were three young children in the car who also received electric shocks and were taken to Wairau Hospital but ambulance staff said they had suffered only minor injuries.
