Woman down to rims

Police took into custody last night a woman who was drunkenly oblivious to the fact that she was driving with no tyres on her car.

The woman's yellow Mercedes was seen driving north on the Southern Motorway near Tip Top Corner on four flat tyres about 8.50pm.

Inspector Barry Smalley said several callers alerted police. "She was intoxicated," he said. "She had no tyres, and her rims were ground flat."
