Woman dies three days after crash

A woman has died in hospital three days after her car hit a power pole near Pukekohe, south of Auckland, say police.

The woman, 42, died in Middlemore Hospital early on Tuesday after crashing just after midnight on Sunday.

Her name will not be released until relatives have been informed.

Police said she appeared to have lost control of her Mazda 121 as she drove around a corner on Kingseat Rd, northwest of Pukekohe, towards Patumahoe and hit the pole.

Police wanted to hear from anyone who saw the crash or events leading up to it.
