Woman dies in Opotiki crash

A 42-year-old woman is dead and another seriously injured after their car crashed into a Toyota Hilux last night.

The accident happened on State Highway 2 at the intersection of Factory Road, Opotiki. The occupants of the Hilux received minor injuries.

Police said excessive speed for the wet conditions was believed to have been a factor in the accident. Serious Crash Unit staff are investigating.
