Woman dies at school pool near Motueka

A 32-year-old woman has died at the Riwaka School pool near Motueka this morning.

Senior Sergeant Grant Andrews says the Motueka woman was swimming in the pool when she had some sort of turn. Another person who was in the pool got her out, did CPR and called an ambulance. The Summit Rescue Helicopter also flew over from Nelson.

Police have notified her husband who has been with victim support.

Mr Andrews says police would refer the woman's death to the coroner and probably release her name tomorrow.
