A woman has died after crashing into a concrete structure in Christchurch just before last night.
Canterbury Police say a 29-year-old female driver was the only occupant in the car when it left the road just before midnight and crashed on Annex Road, near the motorway.
She was taken to Christchurch Hospital by ambulance but died soon after 2am.
The woman's body would now be formally identified and next of kin were still be to informed.
Police investigations were continuing to determine what caused the car to leave the road and collide with a concrete structure.
