KEY POINTS:
A 79-year-old Havelock North woman was killed in a car accident in the carpark of the Havelock North New World supermarket.
Sergeant Clint Adamson said today the accident happened yesterday about 3.45pm.
"The woman lost control of her car as she reversed out of a parking space and was thrown from her car onto the supermarket driveway."
The woman suffered head injuries and died later at the Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital, Mr Adamson said.
The matter will be referred to the coroner.
