Woman dead after two-vehicle crash

A 55-year-old Raglan woman is dead and two others, including her mother, injured after a two-vehicle crash near in Waikato, last night.

The Raglan woman and her 73-year-old mother were in a car which collided head on with a four wheel drive, driven by a 33-year-old man near Tahuna, northwest of Morrinsville.

The man, from Tahuna, was treated at hospital and later discharged.

The mother suffered fractured ribs and has been admitted to Waikato Hospital.

The Tahuna-Ohinewai road was closed and traffic diverted after the 9.15pm crash.

Police said that the dead woman's name would be released after her family had been informed.
