Woman critically injured in crash with campervan

A woman was critically injured in a collision between a car and campervan southeast of Cambridge last night.

A Cambridge police spokeswoman said the crash happened at about 8pm on State Highway 1 when the southbound van, which appeared to have crossed the centre line, collided with a car travelling north.

Three British tourists in the van escaped with minor injuries but the woman in the car was flown to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
