Woman critical after far north crash

A woman is in a critical condition after her car plunged into a harbour in the Far North late last night.

Her car failed to take a bend and rolled into Whangaroa Harbour at Clansman Wharf, 35km northwest of the Bay of Islands.

Fire Service communications spokeswoman Megan Ruru said the woman was pulled out of the water and given CPR before being airlifted to Whangarei Hospital, where her condition was said to be critical.
