A woman was critically injured when she rode her bike into a concrete wall on a steep Wellington hill this morning.
Inspector Dave Rose, of the police central communications centre, said emergency services were called to the scene on Brooklyn Hill about 11.35am.
The 25-year-old had been coming down the hill when she crashed into a concrete wall.
She was thought to have been wearing a helmet but the power of the impact meant it did not afford her much protection.
She was taken to Wellington Hospital in a critical condition.
