One of two women found guilty of assault after a scuffle with Countdown staff has abandoned her appeal against her conviction.
Eve Campbell, 50, who was sentenced to 75 hours' community work after being found guilty of assault with a shopping bag, had planned to appeal her conviction in the High Court at Rotorua late last week but did not go ahead.
Her daughter, Cherylly Juanita Campbell, 30, who was due to give birth, was sentenced in the Rotorua District Court last week to 10 months' jail after being found guilty of assaulting Countdown staff Eric Alexander and Jimmy Thekkakara with a handbag and assaulting a policeman.
During sentencing, Judge Graham Hubble told Campbell the sentence was effectively time served as she had been in custody for five months.
Campbell has lodged an appeal in the High Court at Rotorua but a date for the hearing is yet to be set.
