The woman charged with stabbing a Dunedin pilot in Te Anau will be assessed to see if she is fit to plead or instruct a lawyer.
The 27-year-old Dunedin pilot was out with work colleagues when she was stabbed multiple times in what police said was a random attack in the women's toilets at the Moose Bar in Te Anau on March 29.
Te Anau woman Marama Kiri Pukepuke, 40, was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and has been in custody since her arrest.
In the Invercargill District Court today, Judge Stephen O'Driscoll ordered a report into whether Pukepuke was fit to plead to the charge or instruct counsel.
All other details about what was said during the hearing were suppressed.
