Police in Invercargill have charged a woman with manslaughter following a domestic incident.
The 57-year-old woman was arrested following an incident in the city in early June.
Detective Sergeant Mark McCloy says Police started a homicide enquiry after the death of a 54-year-old man who received head injuries in a domestic incident in Yarrow Street.
Detective Sergeant McCloy says the victim was assessed at the time at Southland Hospital before being transferred to Dunedin Hospital for surgery and intensive care.
He says the man was later returned to Invercargill for palliative care where he later died.
