Woman charged with assault after man's death

A woman has been arrested and charged with assault following the death of a man in Howick, East Auckland yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were been called to a domestic incident at a property Willoughby Avenue around 5pm, where it is believed someone may have been stabbed.

Upon arrival police found a critically injured man who was pronounced deceased on his way to hospital.

The name of the deceased will be released once next of kin have been advised.

A woman known to the deceased has been charged with assault and is due to appear in the Manukau District Court this morning.
