A woman police say was drunk was caught driving her two children to pick up the family car less than three hours after her partner was also caught drink driving.
Police stopped the woman on Wattling St in Gate Pa about 1am yesterday. Her two children were in the car.
About three hours earlier her partner, a Tauranga man, had been stopped for drink driving on Cameron Rd. Western Bay of Plenty head of road policing Senior Sergeant Ian Campion said the man was forbidden to drive and then released.
Police then saw the same vehicle being driven about 1am in Gate Pa.
Mr Campion said the woman had more than twice the legal adult limit of 400 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath.
