KEY POINTS:
A woman badly burned in a suspicious house fire in Rotorua at the begining of the month has died, police confirmed today.
Lynn Mary Delzoppo, 43, of Ngongotaha, was admitted to Waikato Hospital intensive care unit with severe burns on May 1.
She had burns to 40 per cent of her body after being pulled out of a house fire on Taui St, Ngongotaha.
A 44-year-old man escaped the fire with minor injuries and was arrested and charged with assault. He is due to reappear in the Rotorua District Court on June 6.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Loper said Ms Delzoppo had died and a post mortem was being held this morning in Auckland.
He said it was too early to say whether the man would face further charges as a result of the death. The man remained in custody, Mr Loper said.
