A woman bit the top off another woman's little finger and spat it out during a drunken argument, a court has been told.
Kerry Ann Byrne, 32, unemployed, of Dunedin, had been charged with disfiguring the victim with intent to cause grievous bodily harm but this week admitted an amended charge of intentionally injuring the other woman.
She was convicted in Dunedin District Court and remanded for sentence in September by Judge Michael Crosbie.
A Crown summary of facts said Byrne had been invited for drinks at the home of the victim and her husband to celebrate the purchase of a new house.
She was already showing signs of intoxication when she and a male friend arrived about 9.30pm on November 9.
