KEY POINTS:
Police are seeking witnesses to a sexual attack on a 20-year-old woman walking her dog on a Porirua Harbour walkway on Thursday night.
Constable Jocelyn Bell, of Porirua CIB, said the woman was held from behind around her throat by one man while another man assaulted her.
Police believe the male was Polynesian.
One was aged about 20, 173cm tall, of muscular build, clean shaven, and was wearing sports clothing.
Police have released a sketch of the second man described as in his late 20s, 176cm tall, of muscular build who was also wearing sports clothing. The man had a tattoo and scar on his left forearm.
"We know that incidents like this can cause community concern as people should feel safe and be safe while enjoying recreational areas," Ms Bell said.
"We'd like to hear from people who were in the Onepoto area last Thursday night as they may have seen or heard something that will help our investigation," she said.
The victim was 173cm, slimly built and was walking a small dark-coloured dog when she was attacked.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Porirua police on 04 238 1400 and ask for Ms Bell or Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam.
