A child is in shock and a woman is bruised after a car accident in Opononi today.
A police spokeswoman said they were called at 2.37pm after a car ended up in a ditch just before Pakanae Marae. She said it doesn't sound like any other vehicles were involved.
The woman and child were helped out of the car by members of the public. The woman is badly bruised.
"The child is in shock but not injured."
St John, Fire and Police are attending the incident. The spokeswoman said one lane was blocked.
