A woman has been flown to hospital after her horse fell on top of her in central Hawke's Bay.
The accident happened late this morning in Elsthorpe where the woman was on a horse trek when her horse slipped and fell on top of her.
Despite poor weather, the Palmerston North Rescue helicopter managed to reach her.
The woman was treated at the scene by St John paramedics and airlifted to Hawke's Bay Hospital in Hastings for treatment.
