Woman admits dumping baby's body

A Hastings woman yesterday admitted dumping the dead body of a baby police later called "Moses".

The 23-year-old defendant, whose name remains suppressed, pleaded guilty in Hastings District Court to disposing of the boy's body with intent to conceal his birth. The body was found on January 4.

Judge Russell Johnson remanded the woman at large to appear in court again on August 11 for sentencing.
